There are many good lunch spots with nice outdoor venues. The Sea Watch in Lauderdale by the Sea - right on the ocean with a lot of seafood, soups, salads, sandwiches. Sit in the back in the screened porch. Also try the Pelican Grand Hotel for breakfast, or lunch. It is also right on the ocean on a large patio- rocking chairs, very Bahamian in feel. Houstons on the Intracoastal on Atlantic in Pompano has great consistent fare on a large deck in back. The Anglin Pier restaurant in Lauderdale by the Sea at the Fishing Pier has great breakfast with killer ocean views. These are good starts.

Although I would definitely add lunch by the water at the Downtowner Saloon, there are some really great lunch suggestions in this earlier post ---> http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/761846

I don't know why I do this (recommend restaurants I haven't been to yet), but this place has come recommended to me and has a great view. I want to go there one of these days. :)
