rae's on pico in santa monica

How is it? I work close by and want to take a picky friend. She always insists on treating so I hope it's good. I did a search but mostly found stuff on dal rae.

It's great for a greasy breakfast. Typical diner fare.

Go to nearby Lares or Upper West (which is great).

I love Rae's, but it's mostly nostalgic. I also loved, as a kid, needing to get cash, and running across the street to the ATM inside of dive bar The Joker on a Sunday morning. The drunks inside were not pleased by the intrusion of sunlight.

Agree with Servorg...used to go their quite a bit for eggs and home fries but its been at least 8 or 9 years...If you dig the "greasy spoon" vibe I think you'll like it...

Keep your expectations low and you'll be okay. It's a divy diner with divy diner food (the kind of place I like, but I go to Pepy's Galley instead because I think they do a better job).
