Just had an awesome pastrami sandwich

Went to 2nd ave deli for the first time since they moved to Murray Hill. I have recently been to Sargess and Katz. This was considerable better. The consistency, flavor and size were all spot on. Great service from the owner as she spent time talking to us and brought over a huge cookie for my son. You also get these shots of chocolate soda at the end of the meal.
Looking forward to going back already. 14.50 for the sandwich.

I find size of their pastrami sandwich to be much more reasonable in terms of portion size, but other places definitely pile on more meat. I'm fine with it, but I can see how others won't be.

I went to 2nd ave deli a few weeks ago for the first time and also found it superior to Katz's and Lansky's (both of whom I really like). So tender and juicy!

The pastrami is Hebrew National. They'll sell you a sealed package of it if you ask, and you can steam it at home. I've purchased this from them several times to bring to kosher friends overseas.

I guess kudos to hebrew national are in order. Blows away Sarges.
