Anyone try Blue Heron Acres Wagyu yet?

Hey all, first time poster but I've perused the chowhound forums for awhile now.

I'm a big fan of dry aged beef, and an even bigger fan of Wagyu beef, and it seems like there is literally nowhere in the Philly area to get good dry aged beef at a reasonable price (let alone Wagyu).

So when a friend sent me a link to Blue Heron Acres (blueheronacres.com) I was obviously intrigued. And I had to post on here.

The place is located on the PA-NY border and apparently sells 21 day dry-aged Wagyu Beef @ pretty reasonable prices ($15.00 per lb for boneless Ribeyes, $14.00 per lb for NY Strips, etc.). And they will flash freeze it and send it to you via overnight UPS for a pretty reasonable price.

I was just curious if anyone had tried it yet, and if so, what they thought about it? It almost seems too good to be true, but I guess it's possible that they just haven't built up the name reputation yet and therefore aren't marking their Wagyu up 400-500% like everyone else.

I have ordered from them and met the owners - the meat is fantastic and they really are as good as they say they are. The animals are treated incredibly well and processed in a humane and ethical manner. They are never taken off of grass, so even though they say "grain finished" they still are on pasture their entire lives, they are just also given grain in the last 6 months which allows for the marbling in the meat. Very different from the mass meat producers and factory farms who don't allow their cattle any access to grass. You can be assured these cattle are grass fed their entire lives, humanely treated their entire lives and humanely processed - and the owners oversee their processing. The meat is very good - I highly recommend giving it a try!

Haven't tried Blue Heron Acres....but Wegman's (Malvern) has what you need.....Wagyu strips to die for, and on the off chance you can't afford Wagyu...they have some really tasty dry aged beef....always worth it & when you compare to what you would pay out and without control over how it is cooked - perfect!!

How much are we talking about for the Wagyu Strips and the dry aged beef?
