Shanti, Dorchester

I've always liked the Shanti but generally prefer to order off the menu at dinner. Today though, I had a craving for Indian and decided to give their lunch buffet another chance. I was really pleasantly surprised. They had a few different dishes on the buffet along with the familiar tandori chicken and they kept the offerings filled. The place was really busy with just one open table when we were leaving. For my experience there have been many times in the evening that there have been just a few diners, possibly because I always dine out so early. Luncheon buffet is still just $7.99 and that really is a bargain.

  1. Thanks for the tip, it is walking distance from my house so I will keep it in mind.

    1. For $7.99 it's quite cheap and good deal for the price. However your your clothes smells very strong curry when you're finished, and stays with you all the way through work!:(

That's funny, I commented on Saturday that I smelled like curry when we left, and that's the first time I had that happen.

      2. really a hidden gem in this neighborhood. We go there at least once a month. They consistently have delicious food and good service.

        1. the food smell sucks on the cloths but i love that warm smell as soon as i walk in there.. :)

have always liked this place. lunch often includes a lovely goat curry. the menu, which I prefer, has excellent lamb in all forms, and the service is sweet and attentive. other than the kebab factory in somerville, this is my favorite indian buffet and one of my favorite indian restaurants.
