St Benoit yogurt - delicious, fresh and sustainable artisanal yogurt
Discovered this at some local Whole Foods (Venice and West LA locations), and can't stop raving about it. It's a natural yogurt made from whole jersey cow milk and cultures. It has a delicious cream top, and the versions other than plain use fresh preserves as flavoring - nothing artificial.
The creamery is in Sonoma, CA and their packing is a glass jar with a foil top for the multiple serving carton, and a neat little ceramic crock for the single serve portions. The only wast is the foil top! You can bring the glass jar/crocks back to Whole Foods you $1.50 deposit back. They ship the packaging back to the creamery for a refill. No plastic waste!
Hoping they do well - great product. Check it out!!

yeah. it's a favorite with many Chowhounds - if you search you'll find it discussed on the General Topics & some regional boards.
i've always thought it would be awesome if they could find some way for customers to get the crocks refilled instead of having to send them back - it would be even more environmentally friendly!
