Brocato's Eat Dat

We never go to New Orleans East. There are relatively few businesses open but Now I have a reason to go. We went at 3 in the afternoon, so I don't know how busy they get. The atmosphere is kind of offsetting. It is very sterile with white walls with little on them and it's very bright. It gives the impression of a place where one would just pick up a poboy. But WOW, the food was exceptional. Worth the trip. We got the chicken and andouille gumbo-great. Then my husband got the panko crusted fried pork cutlet with greens, mashed potatoes and cornbread. He loved it. It was about $12. I spent $15 and got fried green tomatoes topped with crab cakes topped with shrimp remoulade. It came with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. It was extremely fresh tasting and we both left with more than enough for another meal. Highly recommend it.
