Kuzu ~ Manalapan
Has anyone been here? I know my dear RGR has been here and I have looked over those great pictures of the food!!! (Thank you, RGR!!)
Funny, this was once the home to Marmara, which we loved! Now, I had no idea this was another Turkish restaurant. I think what threw me off was the bar or lounge sign in front of the place. Is it the same place??? Is it a bar and restaurant?? BYO??? I am a little confused. Thanks for any help!!

Hi Angelina,
I can understand your confusion about that signage. It also struck me as confusing when we pulled up to Kuzu -- the first time we'd been there since the new owners took over from Marmara and changed the name. I don't think the two are connected. My guess is that Kuzu's owners decided not to keep that space on the right side. Ergo, the bar/lounge is owned by someone else.
Kuzu's dining room (on the left) stll has the same decor as before, the food is very good, and it's still byo. If you liked the belly dancing on the weekends (not my thing), I think they still have that.
ETA: Of course, I could be wrong about there being no connection. We were not offered any alcoholic drinks/wine menu in the restaurant, so I'm presuming they have no liquor license. Of course, the best way to find out exactly what the situation is would be to call and ask.

A., I just edited my post re: the question about the liquor license. But Kuzu Restaurant has not, thankfully, morphed into another Italian!

It is a restaurant. My husband and I went there when it first opened up last year. i think that they served liquor at that time. Don't know if they still do. My husband ordered a lamb platter that had different types of lamb on it and I got a chicken dish. He loved his dish and i was pleased with mine. I just remember that the items seemed a little pricey, but we got a lot of food. My husband has a large appetite and he brought food home.
To save a few dollars you can check restaurant.com. They used to have gift certificates for this restaurant. I think iI paid several dollars for a 25 dollar GC, There are some restrictions but definately worth checking out.Hope this helps.
