Near your hotel, the steak/sushi place upstairs in Lenox Mall [name escapes me!] is actually quite good. Across the way, in Phipps Plaza Mall, The Tavern is a nice bar with good salads/pub food. There is a new steak/italian place in Phipps, near the theatre elevators, that has been getting press lately. Bricktops, an informal place in the office complex at the piedmont/peachtree intersection is a houston's knockoff that's not bad, either. Isn't there a Shula's steak place in the Marriott? They are usually decent steak places, though I haven't eaten there. There is a very popular French bistro, Niko's Bistro, down P'tree from Lenox/Phipps you might like, but may call for dressier than you would like.
Closer to the Dome/Phillips: if you like seafood, McCormick & Schmick's is pretty good west coast chain seafood, and Legal Seafood is the same, branch of a Boston favorite. Ted's Montana Grill is a good informal steak/burger place across Centennial Park from Phillips.
enjoy your visit!

RxDiesel hit the nail on the head with the Tavern. Good atmosphere and its connected to the mall. Both Lenox Mall and Phipps Plaza are some of the nicest. if not the nicest malls. in Georgia. For something near the dome, I would try Taco-Mac. They have a very large beer selection and are attached to the CNN center. Most are scared off by 'Taco' in the name but its mostly what I would call 'above average bar food' with probably less than 5 Mexican inspired dishes. Try the chicken philly, or the boneless buffalo wings.
Went here for dinner. Was outstanding. Had pork belly and veal short ribs. Both done superbly. Open kitchen behind a glass wall adds to the ambience. Service was outstanding as well.
My new favorite place it the atlanta area.
