Long Beach: Good place to pick up steaks for cooking at home?

I'm wondering if anyone knows a good place for steaks they like to cook at home. I don't think any of the supermarkets sell anything other than select and I'd rather drive around to pick up something better than settle with what's at my local chain market.

Any help/ideas? I did a search but couldn't come up with results other than restaurants.

Thanks in advance!

  1. If there is a Costco nearby, they have prime and choice steaks.

    1. Bristol Farms on Bellflower, just south of the 405?

      1. Have you tried the yuppie Ralphs Fresh Fare stores on 7th and in Marina Pacifica? Some Ralphs carry a higher grade.

        1. Costco in Signal Hill or Lakewood.

          1. The best we've found is the grass fed beef and bison at Whole Foods near 2nd and PCH. If it is a special event, we make a trip to Marconda's in the L.A. Farmers Market for their Piedmontese beef.

            1. Wholefood Market on PCH have some good quality steaks. If not a bit on the pricey side.
