How about Nizza, Marseille's sister restaurant next door?

I went for dinner a few years ago and enjoyed the food and overall experience. Just haven't had the occasion to return since. Have you been recently? I take it it's still good?

No, I have not been there recently, but friends have & were pleased with their meal. Can't say more than that, but it seems the easiest choice for "restaurant that's comparable to Marseille" without being Marseille. :-)

I avoided Joe Allen for years, but went last year when I didn't have a choice, and really enjoyed it. I've been back several times since.

Comparable in what way? Price? Cuisine? Orso is just slightly more expensive, but definitely a worthwhile alternative. Also Toloache.

I'm not sure what you mean by "comparable to Marseille," but I like Trattoria Trecolori in that area.
