Rice wraps with pork inside and pork roll (I think this is 34 on menu). Add the shrimp and yam fritters for two dollars

    Jicama spring rolls

One of the sandwiches: combination is one of my favorites, but a lot of people love the boiled shrimp.

    Cream puff for dessert

Deep Fried Garlic Butter Shrimp Banh Mi/Po Boy paired with a glass of young coconut juice.

Not sure how Carter B manages to have a single cream puff, I cut myself off at the half dozen mark though.

At .50 they're the best value in town for scratch pastry.

Tam's beef stew is really good too. Take fresh French loaf, drag through house mayo, drag through broth of stew, repeat til bowl is empty.

Also, Vietnamese Breakfast plate with fried eggs and house cured ham is hard to beat.

      Don't skip the pate'.

Take loaves of the wonderful bread home for sandwiches.

Note inflation has hit Tam's cream puffs and they are a whopping 60 cents now.

Also, another good dish is an app called trieu cheau or something like that. It is like an omelet with soft tofu in it and comes with a nice soy sauce.

I should mention that the vermicelli bowls (bun) are probably the least interesting option at Tam's. It is a bit more dry than most version in town.

ahhh got my fix yesterday and dreaming of when i'll go back! thx for the suggestions--ordered, and ate an obscene amnt of food w/ my family--vietnamese spring rolls, vietnamese fried egg roll, steamed pork bun, fried garlic shrimp banh mi, combi banh mi, rice wrap w/ pork roll w/side of shrimp/yam thingys, cream puffs. YUM. favorites were shrimp banh mi, rice wrap, spring roll and cream puffs. Least fav was steamed pork bun. Swift, friendly service. Love this place.
