I'm not sure how late Umami is open. How about Luna Park? Or, if you headed a bit further west,
Kate Manellini is open late.

My experience with the Umami on LaBrea (though I haven't been there in a while) is that they rush you out of there. So showing up late might be dicey.
The one on Hollywood, however (though it's a bit further drive) is terrific and the service is much better than the original spot. I've been to this one a lot...and it's my favorite. Plus it has wine and beer.
And of course...the burgers are addictive.

That mid-Wilshire area is sorely lacking in options. I would go to K-Town - maybe BCD Tofu? I also am not sure if Umami is open that late, and even if they are, the La Brea location doesn't have a lot of seating - I would be concerned about getting a table for 6. Another option would be to shoot up Highland and go to Pizzeria Mozza - I believe they're open until midnight.
