Where to eat in Niagara Falls, NY (US only, please)!

  • 6

Hi, my boyfriend and I are looking for some decent spots to eat while spending a weekend in early March. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

What we need:
-2 breakfast spots
-1 lunch spot
-2 dinner spots

What we're looking for:
-relatively inexpensive places (we realize things may be pricier due to location)
-fresh & simple ingredients
-clean, quirky & casual atmosphere
-somewhere with KILLER home fries (the crispier the better)

We're not really the fine dining type or anything; we're essentially meat & potato people who like things well/uniquely prepared.

Thanks for your help!

  1. A good local pizza place for dinner -- La Hacienda -- 3019 Pine Ave - - - I am a fairly recent NYC transplant to WNY and I enjoy their pizza. It's also a very popular local place.
Cafe Lola for lunch - -- 507 3rd st - - - It's a great upscale sandwich shop. For Niagara Falls it is unique. The restaurant next door is called Wine on 3rd and it is my favorite in the falls for dinner, but it won't fit your budget.
Where are you staying in NF? - - I will have some more suggestions when I know where you are staying.

Thanks for your suggestions...both sound wonderful and appear to be close to our hotel. We're staying at Days Inn on Main St/Rainbow Blvd (which, to my understanding, has a Denny's on site...ick!).

Don't miss Michaels on Pine Avenue. (3011 Pine Ave) Very cozy and a great place. And here is a decent site run by a local professor. http://www.cse.buffalo.edu/restaurant...
I will keep trying to think of more. Breakfast I won't be of much help. I don't ever eat breakfast in that neighborhood.

Aww, breakfast is our favorite! We don't mind traveling a bit for something good! ;)

    2. My wife suggested Murphys for breakfast. I have never been, but she says it's cute and her lunch there was great.

      1. It's a short drive from where you're staying - but I tend to take the extra 5-10 minutes to drive to Lewiston - where there are at least a half dozen good places to eat. The Brickyard has pretty decent BBQ but the real star here is the beer selection. Great for people watching too. Also good is Casa Antica. They have great early dining specials and huge portions. Definitely try their stuffed pepper app. Although most restaurants in the area have a version - Antica's is the best. Based on recent experience, I'd recommend sharing an appetizer and entree - unless you want to bring leftovers back to your hotel (yes the entree portions are that big)
