Pittsburgh Fish restaurant suggestion:

Will be at the William Penn for one night in two weeks. Would love a good fish restaurant (or one with both fish and meat options). Will have a car so could drive to a suburb. Any thoughts?

  1. I would highly recommend that you try Monterey Bay on Mount Washington. Being from out of town, this choice gives you not only a good restaurant, but a fantastic view of the city. If you are dining alone, they also have a great bar area with the same view. Only 5 or 10 minutes away from the hotel.

I would also highly recommend Monterey Bay on Mount Washington. It's my favorite seafood place in Pittsburgh. I usually go with Ahi Tuna or Swordfish, but I've never had anything bad there.

And, Burghfeeder is right, it's one of the best views in the city. I like the bar, too.

    2. I would recommend Eleven in the Strip which is close to downtown and has both meat and fish. It is a lovely restaurant with great service, cocktails, and atmosphere.

      1. If the night you're here is a Wed, Thu, or Fri, you might like to try the Penn Avenue Fish Market's new downtown location, which is not on Penn Avenue, but rather at 308 Forbes Avenue, between Smithfield and Wood Streets. It's not a formal restaurant at all--the mothership is a fish market in the Strip District--and is probably a BYOB (I don't drink). But I think they have the best fish in the city. They're open for lunch too, btw.

        Here's a sample dinner menu:
