A Montrealer in Portland

Hey, Portland 'Hounders --

My husband's cousin in your fair city for a few days and is at an utter loss as to where to eat and where to go for beer. Montreal has a lot of great microbreweries, but he's unfamiliar with yours. If there are any threads I may have missed about your best, I apologize, but tips would be greatly appreciated!

Another great beer place is Saravesa but it is not a brewery. Excellent food too!

Beer first..there are so many..where to start...I was just at Coalition (SE Ankeny @ 28th) last nite for the Cream Ale, Migration (NE Glisan @28th) has a great one too, Catured by Portches is the first beer cart@D_St Noshery on Division, also, @12th there's Apex and Beermongers aren't breweries, but have great selections of beer.. Lucky Lab( SE Hawthorne @ 9th) is solid, Burnside brewing opened recently, the brewer is from Roots, Cascade does sour beers, on SE Belmont...
and thats just in my hood....
