Looking for a (restaurant) wedding reception venue in LA
I'm looking for a restaurant (with great food) for a wedding reception in May/June. The hubby and I eloped in Vegas and want to throw a casual bash for close family and friends without the traditional wedding activities (no dance floor, cake-cutting, bouquet throwing, etc). We WILL be doing a slideshow (is this impossible for an outdoor garden lunch?) and am looking for a great setting for photos.
We are looking at about 50-75 people and want something intimate and not too busy/bothersome if we can't take over the entire restaurant.
Location: Looking at Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, WeHo, or as far as Pasadena and north OC if the venue is good.
Some places that we are looking into are:
The Wilshire (Highly recommended in past reviews but that was 3 years ago. Is this still a good venue for an event?)
Inn at the 7th Ray
Cafe Pinot
All reviews/ recos I find seem to be at least a few years old. Any suggestions from fellow chowhounds would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!!

Don't know your budget but the La Venta Inn is high on a hill in Palos Verdes overlooking the entire Santa Monica Bay and you get the classic 1920's Inn and outdoor gardens all to yourselves. I've been to many parties there and it is an incredible location.

This place is beautiful though a little out of my price range. :(

Wilshire is still as amazing as it always was/is. If it's in the budget, look no further.

Oooh, budget will help I guess. :)
I'd like to stay as close to $50-65 for food as I can. If there is an amazing venue that doesn't need as much decor or etc I'm willing to go up to $80-90.
