  1. I went a few weeks ago with a friend. I'd been to Cav a few times and Yield just once. Because I was familiar with the (strangely large) Cav space, it was a little difficult at first to disassociate my expectations from what Cav offered (voluminous list, full kitchen) to the new model, which is more focused on a smaller list of sustainable wines (organic or biodynamic). I think the night we went there were something like 3 white wines and 4-5 red wines by the glass as well as a bottle list.

The menu includes a few oyster selections, a cheese plate (several selections at $8 a piece), antipasti and a couple of entrees. I can imagine coming here for appetizers or cheese and a glass of wine but the atmosphere isn't such that I'd want to come for dinner.

I prefer cozier nooks, so I'd probably go to Yield itself were I interested in exploring sustainable wines, and Hotel Biron, which is a few minutes by foot from this place, if I wanted just to meet up for a verre de vin.

    1. I had grilled maitake bruschette ($6 for two) and smoked salmon "rilette" ($6), which was really more of a pâté, both very good. Very vegetarian-friendly menu with no meat or poultry.

Pause now has $5 food items at happy hour, Tuesday-Saturday 5-7pm.
