Where to dine after taking my kid to Coco Key (in the Crowne Plaza), Fitchburg?
I have the same question but different Coco Key. My kid is the least adventurous of eaters but he can chow down there. If he's full, his dad and I am might be able to get him to sit with us while we eat somewhere more attuned to our tastes. any ideas? I know it's not a chow mecca, but anything remotely interesting would make us happy, given the circumstances!

One of my favorite restaurants in the area is Taste of Vietnam on Rt 12 in Leominster, the next town over from Fitchburg. I think Coco Key is close to the Wachusett Village Inn, if convenience is key, but I have never eaten there and can't speak for the food.

re: bear
Yea i agree on that and im also not at all a fan of Taste of Vietnam. I cant think of much of anything in the fitchburg or leominster area that i would recommend to anyone. How far are you willing to drive and what direction are you going on the way home? What types of foods do you prefer?

re: hargau
we are coming home to Somerville, and anything that might be even a half-notch higher than the 99 would be great. ..we are just hoping for something on the way home, doesn't have to be really close so we are so close anyway, a bit more interesting, I've even found the grilled shrimp at any chain other than the 99 ok as a break....except forget Outback. This isn't about our preferred foods but a compromise son could tolerate (he's not spoiled, we adopted him from foster care and his problems are not his own creation, or ours). Alcohol in some form, yes, a necessity!
If it comes down to that, I'll go get the nachos in the lobby at the Crowne Plaza with a glass of wine and dad can take my turn after me!

re: Madrid
If you are taking Rte 2 home, there is Not Your Average Joe's right off the Acton/Maynard exit of Rt 2 (take a right off the exit ramp and it is in the strip mall on your left). It fulfills your requirements by having alcohol and being family friendly and a step above the 99. We call it "Totally Average Joe's", but the food is OK.
