Dinner before show @ The Wang...

Hey foodies!!

I'm heading into town Monday for a concert at the Wang, and I'll be looking to grab dinner before around 6:00...not to big into "China town" and have previously been to Rock Bottom. Looking to switch it up and assessing what else is near by for preshow recommendations w/ other places to eat?? Open to any kind of menu and moderately priced. I would like to stay around the Tremont/ Stuart St. area b/c of parking purposes

Thanks~ Eating, Drink and be Merry :)

  1. There is the new pizza/pasta chain from Germany (Viapiano?) on Stuart a couple of blocks from the Wang.

Vapiano's website is sort of creepy/offputting/weird

"VAPIANO is a very urban concept for young professionals, consisting of over sixty percent female clientele. So we only pick modern urban and centralized locations with high visibilty, high ceilings and bright and open architecture with lots of daylight and beautiful patios."

oh my...does it really say that?!? ...that is a bit pretentious...lol

That is funny. I haven't been and just quickly looked at the menu walking by. has anyone tried it?

Oh my goodness! Doesn't sound like a place for me. Thanks for the warning!

Wow. Sounds like they translated it directly from their German (or whatever) site, without thinking of altering the copy for a different culture. This is why you have to PAY writers, people!

          1. You might try intermission tavern. . . it's owned by a stagehand - dont know if it's chowish. Haven't really eaten there. We do like Teatro for half portion pastas. We also like Via Matta for their bread and house wine and eggplant and another side of veggies for a lovely simple meal.

Erbaluce defiantly has an interesting concept of how the menu changes nightly for dinner...I may not want to risk it Monday however, but that could be fun to try one evening when i'm feeling adventurous about "what's for dinner"

Screw Intermission Tavern... There's a place on Lagrange street that has free pizza if you get in early enough.

                2. re: Bellachefa

Intermission has decent burgers and I like their hot potato chips. Rest of the menu I find just to be okay. I would probably opt for the bar at Montien for Thai.

I like Intermission for a burger or sandwich and it is convenient for the OP.

Is that a joke? I'll answer that: yes, that was a joke.

                    2. Silvertone and Marliave are each worth the ten-minute walk.
