Key West Must Eats

I am going to Key West for 4 days of business meeting with my co-workers. We don't have huge expense budgets but would like to try out the best that Key West has to offer. Can anyone suggest places to eat a quick lunch? Our conference is being held at Crown Plaza's La Concha. We will probably have an hour or less to grab lunch. Also, any dinner rec including beers & coctails afterwards would be great, too! (Dinner entrees $25 or less). Thanks from cold New England chowhounder!

  1. Go to Virgilio's for live music and martinis. It is awesome and slightly off the beaten path. Should you happen to be there on a Monday, make sure to check out $5 martinis, heck yeah! Not sure about the restaurant in the front, La Trattoria, as we headed straight to the back.

Also, if you want fancier beers and conversation, The Porch is nice and not so rowdy as some of the Duval Street bars.

For a quick lunch, you may want to check out one of the Cuban markets with food like Sandy's or 5 Brothers.

Also, I haven't been to Bad Boy Burrito, but have heard good things about fish burritos there. And Garbo's Grill, a food truck that is supposed to have good food, as per yelp.

I second The Porch as a great place to go for some quality beer. They also have wine, but I can't vouch for the quality, selection or price.
In addition to Sandy's (good sandwiches) I recommend the Cuban Coffee Queen for good reasonably priced sandwiches.
I tried to go to Garbo's Grille, but she was closed that day. Some of the pasta dishes at La Trattoria are reasonably priced and of good quality. I've had very good selections from the grill there, but they are normally above your price constraint.

      2. For lunch, Sarabeth's (yes, your near namesake) is close to La Concha, at Simonton and Southard. An offshoot of the NYC place, it is charming, and friendly with excellent local salads and sandwiches. On Duval, near Amelia, try DJ's Clam Shack, with superb NE lobster rolls, Ipswich fried clams, and the whole bit. Blue Heaven, and the French Crepe place (both on Petronia) usually have a wait at lunchtime.
