Shalom Bombay in NYC closed by Health Dept [now re-opened]

A post on says that it had 98 health violations and has been closed.

  1. koshertopia reported on monday its re-opening tomorrow

    1. Just to clarify, its not 98 violations, its 98 points. NYC assigns a certain point value to a specific type of violation (it is not a 1 to 1 violation to point ratio). Then, based on the total number of points earned by a restaurant, NYC provides a total score for all the different violations. If the point value is too high it closes the restaurant. Either way, having so many points or violation that the city has to close your restaurant is not good.
