south boston lunch

going to be in South Boston for lunch.

Where do you suggest?

Mirisolas for Italian, though I'm not sure it's open for lunch during the week.

      Thanks for your feedback,

I obviously wasn't specific enough nor did I leave enough time for proper feedback.

I was in the Fort Point part of South Boston by the way.

I ended up driving around Broadway and Dorchester Ave a bit but nothing caught my eye so I ended up crossing the highway and getting a pastrami dog at Speed's

Good stuff but I don't get many chances at trying out new neighborhoods for lunch.

What and where should my lunch have been today?

Where is that Hamster. My office is in southie and we've eaten at most every restaurant in town.

About a quarter mile from Broadway T stop, on Broadway, the other side of the street. Close to the police station but across the street.

AK on D Street is pretty good also (one street east from Broadway). Great tuna sandwiches at Rondo's.

K.O. Pies and Catering. Or is it KO Catering and Pies? On A St. behind Amrhein's. Maybe with the warmer weather this week I'll get up the energy to cross W. Broadway and get one of their meat pies to take home.

Old Southie: Cafe Portobello for kick-ass, homemade Italian at great prices.

Ft. Point: Flour Bakery or Lucky's Lounge. If you're looking for something on the nicer side, Sportello offers some take-away items for lunch, as well as sit-down counter service.

And speaking of Sullivan's, was in NYC this weekend, saw a play called "Good People", which takes place in Southie, and they mentioned Sullivan's in the show!

Old Southie: Liberty Bell Roast Beef - King Beef All the way (drool)

Ft Point: Lucky's - upscale pub food. I'm partial to the mac n cheese.

Are you going to be in the old residential part of Southie, or the Fort Point / Seaport area? Very different options between the two.
