One Lunch in Vegas this Saturday

Hi Vegas Hounds,
I am an LA hound who will be in Vegas this weekend. I haven't been in about 5 years. My dinners are spoken for but I have the day free on Sat for hanging around and a lunch. I see most of the big names (Twist, Rubuchon, etc) are dinner only. OPen to any cuisines but would tend to avoid what LA does well (sushi, Puck, Thai, Korean, Chinese).
Staying Bellagio but willing to cab.
Money unimportant - just feed me nice :)
Thanks in advance, Bob!

  1. Have you ever tried Mon Ami Gabi? Great food, nice atmosphere and right across the street from your hotel.

No never tried it. Will check it out. Made a tentative reservation at Julian Serrano, but looking for ideas like yours, jackattack. Thanks.

You can look at the menus for Comme Ca in the Cosmopolitan which has gotten some good reviews
        or Mesa Grill in Caesar's.

        Thanks to all you LV'Hounds.
LA has a Comme Ca (I believe it started in LA) and a Bouchon (perhaps, BOTH are ENDING in LA). And I grew up in NY during Bobby Flay's pre-TV heyday, so Mesa Grill is not calling me at all.
Sorry, not being picky/snobby just trying to find an LV lunch I cannot imagine here in LA.

I second brunch at bouchon, you will be blown away by the pastries.

Comme Ca would be a nice lunch too, try the flatbread pizza with the lardons and caramelized onions

        2. One of the problems with lunch in Vegas is that it tends to be an after thought. And hence, most Strip places serve the generic and mundane lunch items (not referring to a place like LOS, but they do not serve lunch on the weekends). I tend to play safe myself (weekends generally find me in the sports books). Recently had a great burger at Strip Burger across the street from Wynncore. Would I make a special trip to eat there? Nahhh. But it seems burger joints are popping up in or next to many Hotels.

And given the recent press that the Fukuburger truck is getting, you may want to track it down. Certainly could do worse and would love to hear another review before I head back out there in March.

My buddy just went to Holstein's in the Cosmopolitan and said he had a very good meal (disclaimer at the end). He really liked his burger, I think he said it was called Gold Standard? He RAVED about the pork belly bun. The other 3 people in the party…2 very much liked and one thought it was good, not great. Now the disclaimer...I will say when it comes to food advice I generally never take it from this friend. Not that he doesn't know what quality is, but rather he is just too main stream. Not that it's a bad thing, I just wouldn't say he was a Chowhound-like person.

          1. Julian Serrano (Aria) may be a very good fit for what you are looking for.
