Delicious restaurant in Toronto for 50 people?

I'm looking for recommendations for a place in toronto that can accomodate around 50 people. This is a work dinner. Some folks will be from Toronto and some from Vancouver. We're looking to spend less than 50 per head.

Any and all suggestions welcome!

I should have mentioned that all types of cuisine are basically fair game!

Are you talking $50 all-in (ie. including drinks, tax and tip)? Any particular area? Do you need a private room?

$50 all-in. Our meetings are on University north of Dundas so the downtown area is best. Looking at the middle of the week and a private room is not required. :) Thanks for the reply!

I'm having a hard time coming up with suggestions of places where you could get a whole meal, including drinks, for $50. If cutting out drinks/having an open bar is an option, you could try Le Select ($39pp + tax and tip group menu) or Beer Bistro ($34pp + tax and tip). Also, I know that Terroni on Adelaide has a private space that could work for you -- not sure if they do a group menu, but if you're ordering individually and people stick to pizza or pasta, (depending on how many drinks people order) you could potentially keep it under $50. Also, I like Tutti Matti (suggested by JennaBean) but I think you'd be hard-pressed to keep the bill under $50pp (apps are mostly close to $20 each, and entrees are in the 20s as well).

I think they'd have to do a buyout at Tutti Matti and a set menu but I think it is possible.

Thanks! We did Beer Bistro once before and it went over well. Terroni is also one I'm checking into.
It seems like an easy thing to book but it's actually pretty difficult! We will probably limit to one cocktail and promote sharing of apps.

I would suggest Mercatto over Terroni's. With a big group you're likely to have one or two people who may want a diet soda or an item omitted or changed from their meal. At Terroni's no diet soda and no substitutions. While the diet soda thing isn't a big deal for most people the last thing you want is for someone from your group to want a small modification and being told flat out - no.

They are similar menus and price points. I think it is better to go with the option which is least likely to cause small issues on event night.

Seeing as it is middle of the week you might be able to do a buy-out at a smaller place. A place like Sidecar or Tutti Matti would likely fit the bill. If you want to try a bigger place where you're not looking at a buyout I would suggest looking into Mercatto on College or even the one on Toronto street.

Thanks! Mercatto is a great suggestion.
