SC bbq: McCabe's or D&H?

I'll be driving through South Carolina in a few weeks, and I have to eat some barbecue. I've looked around a little bit on these boards, and I think I've narrowed it down between McCabe's and D&H. Does anyone have any thoughts? Both have gotten good reviews, although there isn't as much said about D&H... I'll be on 95 to 77, but am willing to detour my route for great bbq. Any suggestions, reviews, or info. is much appreciated.

On an intense BBQ tour last year, McCabe's stood tall. That same day I ate at Sweatman's,Grady's (Dudley,NC) and Wilber's in Goldsboro. McCabe's held its own. A really good and smokey sandwich. I agree with Sue both on her Maurice's comment and the reliability of Littleman's cut and paste review system. Definitely give McCabe's a try and tell us what you think.

I'd stick with McCabe's where you'll have the option of ordering barbecue "off the pit". I strongly recommend it. The sides are good, as are D&H's. The barbecue at D&H is fine, but not quite up to McCabe's. Both serve real wood-cooked barbecue.

Hushpuppy, I would too, except it's way out of the way. But I'll always go out of my way for McCabe's and I do. I'm not sure about Littleman's cut and paste post: I wouldn't go to Maurice's on a bet.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think that we'll try McCabe's. It sounds well worth any extra drive.

Get off I 95 at Exit 21 at Ridgeland, SC and have great pulled or chopped port at BBQ Grill. They also have BBQ ribs and chicken. I think it's better than Dukes.

Manning is north of where you need to exit off 95 to take 26 to 77. Doc's in Columbia, on Shop Road, is not far out of your way. I highly recommend it.

Skip Maurice's unless you enjoy racist memorabilia.
