Which new restaurants are on your to-do list and why?
What's on your dining-out wish list? Mine:
Tico: Very curious to see how Michael Schlow has trained underlings to pull off a very long and ambitious menu, and also wondering how his zany tacos might compare to those found at a spot like Poe's. Browsing the menu, lots of it is very much to my taste--it reads well, anyway. We'll see.
Lolita's Cocina: Do you detect a theme here? I love spicy food, and though I'm not curious about anything in particular at Lolita, I'm always game for trying a new Mexican spot.
Tasty Burger: I haven't been yet. Heard mixed things. Heck, it looks funky and inviting from the outside, and a fried hamburger seems like something one ought to ingest at least once.
The Gallows: Poutine is my pal. I'm wondering how it will compare to a spot like, I don't know, Foundry.
MC Slim JB wrote not long ago about an Indian (?) place housed within an old KFC on the outskirts of Porter Sq. I cannot remember the name, will have to do a search, but it sounded divine.
This isn't a new place, but I've long wanted to try both Taranta and Mare, but have yet to make it to either.

Darul Kabab is the Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi place I wrote about. It still looks like a KFC, but there's some love and finesse and freshness in the cooking there.
Some places I feel I urgently need to try: Dumpling Cafe, Q Restaurant, Bondir (crap, didn't beat the Globe rave, it'll be weeks before I can get an easy table!), Brothers Crawfish, La Baguette, Tawakal, and Top Griyo.
