Pittsburgh Steaks

Finally got some of my foodie friends to come in for a weekend from out of town. They are familar with the city so I don't have to do any type of PGH food tour.. ALthough, I want to take them for a Steak dinner. I would like to not go to ruth's or mortons (not against just sayn') ... and try a PITT steak house.. We are all under 30 and ideally like a place not too formal for this night, but will accomadate for a great steak ..

Six downer, I sure do agree with you. I've read a lot of good comments about Pittsburgh Steak, but both times there have been a dissapointment.

I will be going to Tessaro's , I have been wanting to make a trip there for years!! Although, I did go to PGH Steak over weekend, mostly for convience. Nice cut of meat, but missing flavor. I see why most of the other options were covered in something.. service was good! even though soup and salad came out same time.. (pet peve)

If you want a more social, not so formal place, Tessaro's might fit the bill and the wood grill produces some great steaks!

Funny, as I was reading the post my first thought was Tessaro's too! It will definitely fit the not too formal bill (or formal at all) , but still makes a good steak.
