Prepared foods in Midtown East?

I'm helping a friend to host a lunchtime gathering at her home near First Avenue and 49th Street. Does anyone have any great/creative suggestions for places to use for catering/prepared foods? I'm coming up woefully short. Thanks!

I love eating in at Certe, which is primarily a catering spot. I have heard good things about their catering and the platters I see them prepare while I am eating look fabulous. For more of an event, KG Fare is excellent, and very reasonable compared to similar caterers...very nice people to deal with.

There is a real lack of good prepared take out in midtown east. One idea: try Sip Sak and get a few platters, dishes, of Turkish mezze. Their starters are excellent.

If a week day Dishes also would make a good take out lunch, from their branch at Park and 53d or the one on 48th and Madison.
