Just read this press release today - in addition to the new Emeril Legasse establishment, the owners of Kabob Grill are bringing Middle Eastern uptown:

Opening in early spring 2011, Mizan will specialize in healthy exquisite Mediterranean cuisine. Mizan’s modern and elegant atmosphere with a flair for serving executive luncheons and special occasion dinners will be the “go-to” spot for customers searching for the perfect mix of work and play, daytime and night time cravings. Mizan, meaning "balance," is the brainchild of Omar Kweider and Lilly Latorre, owners of Kabob Grill. This spin-off restaurant will offer similar menu items such as hummus, falafel, lamb, chicken and shrimp specialties, exotic desserts and coffees and so much more. So if you’re looking for a quick lunch or an international culinary escape, Mizan is the perfect choice. Their key is authentic, fresh ingredients mixed with a modern Mediterranean flair. Mizan’s outdoor patio will be the place to be seen in uptown, as diners gaze at pedestrians attending the many events on the cultural campus

Nice, its about time we had some Middle Eastern downtown. I love it when restaurants try to fill holes instead of playing copy-cat.
