Going to a show at Club Hell and wondered what was good in the area. A place with a good burger and maybe some more interesting choices? We might take the walk down to Cafe Noir and I've liked Bravo, but in case we need something closer, what do you suggest? Thanks.

  1. The Red Fez is a short walk from Richmond Street (peck street in between pine and friendship), tasty, and open late!

had the green chile crab dip @ thee fez a couple weeks ago and have been obsessing about it since. burgers are awesome and the fries rock.

Get thee to the Fez and get the poutine.

I'm a little disappointed with the poutine at Red Fez! I'm a huge Fez fan, but part of what makes Poutine so awesome is the melted cheese curds....you lose that awesome melty-ness when the cheese is also fried!

That said, I had the pulled pork plate there a few weeks back, and it was really really good! And their Mac & Cheese is phenomenal...as is their grilled cheese! Hmmm...might have to head back soon....

        2. I didn't see anyone's comments til after I was in Prov. I knew about the Red Fez but we ended up walking over to Cafe Noir and had a nice meal. Cozy place, nice service. The classic Alsatian pizza was tasty although different than at Sandrine's in Boston and some others I've had, more puffy almost looking like a mini Greek style pizza. Salad w/ prosciuitto wrapped asparagus, frisee and a poached egg was great. Double pork burgers didn't really taste of extra piggy goodness but were good with great frites. With a champagne, beer and tip, it came to $52.

Found myself in Pawtucket on Sun. so ate at L&J BBQ in that little plaza with with a couple other interesting eateries. Had the L&J Benedict with poached eggs over pulled pork on grilled corn bread and home fries. The only bummer was no yolk in the eggs (!) but delicious corn bread, excellent home fries (altho could have been cut a little smaller), $10.50. Bloody Mary looked good as did all the hamburger and sandwich options for good prices. Need to try it again.
