Can you help feed my foursome?

  • 3

Hello Scottsdale,

We (four guys) are coming out next week for a few days of golf, and we have three nights to enjoy the local cuisine. I have read most of the posted information, but would like some last minute direction. We are staying at the Camelback Inn, and we are looking for great food, lively atmosphere, and hopefully a short drive. Our "budget" is flexible.

So, for one night, I am thinking Cowboy Ciao. I have been there (a few years ago) and loved it. And most everything I read says that it is still fun and yummy.

Then, we would like to do Italian one night, and every place I read about has as many "thumbs down" as it has "thumbs up." What do you think of the Italian Grotto? Other suggestions?

And for the third night, fish! Is Wildfish Seafood Grille worth a visit? Other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers. Oldzinman

  1. Marcellino, a highly regarded Italian restaurant, just recently moved into a space right across the street from Cowboy Ciao. And while on the topic of Ciao, I should note that the former executive chef (Bernie Kantak) has since moved on to his own project, Citizen Public House, which is about a block and a half south of Cowboy Ciao.

Andreoli is another very good option for Italian food, but the ambience is very deli-ish. As such, I tend to think of it more as a lunch stop than a dinner destination, despite the fact that they do serve dinner up until 8pm (or is it 9? help?).

    1. highly recommend cowboy ciao - great pick

for italian i would go with tomaso's, everything there is excellent - i have not been to marcillino's but it is supposed to be great also - marcillino will is a bit more expensive than tomaso's not sure if anyone who has been to both can compare then for you...

Wildfish is a good guy trip for happy hour, good prices and decent enough happy hour food, very lively, have had some great stuff off the regular menu (scallops)

      1. The burger and beer deal in the bar at J&G Steakhouse at the Phoenician resort is excellent for $19..
