Oyako Donburi in DC

stuckinschool Feb 10, 2011 07:22 AM

Hi all,
I'm a recent transplant from the Bay area with a major craving for my favorite Japanese comfort dish- oyako donburi. Any ideas where I might be able to find one in the District?
Thanks in advance!

Satsuma in Bethesda has it on their dinner menu.

I occasionally get oyako don at Sakana on P St in Dupont Circle. Their ramen is not bad either.

Lots of places have donburi, but mostly katsudon, tekkadon, and/or unadon; I haven't seen many w/ oyakodon. The last places I think I saw it were Akasaka and Hana Tokyo, both in Alexandria.

I know the OP asked for DC, but for completeness if anyone else is looking: I just remembered that Maneki Neko (Falls Church) had oyakodon on the menu the last time I was there. Also, neither MoMo (Alexandria) nor Sushi Zen (Arlington) have it.
