Tabasco Sweet and Spicy -- seen it?

I'm trying to get a hold of the (new-ish, apparently) Sweet and Spicy Tabasco. It's nowhere to be found in the Niagara region, the Tabasco product locator (which, like so many others, only works for American zip codes) shows nothing even within 100 miles of Buffalo (not that I could get there anyway) and my attempts at correspondence with Tabasco's Canadian retail distributor have gone unanswered.

Hoping that this exists somewhere in Toronto. Has anyone seen it?

  1. I got my first bottle in the States, but we found it again here in Canada -- I'm 99% positive that it was at Diana's seafood, though I'd check with them before going there just to be sure, because I could be wrong.

I haven't been able to find this or the chipotle or habanero ones either. Maybe they aren't distributed here or perhaps you have to special order them.

Whole Foods said they have the chipotle, and habanero I think, when I called them. I'll give Diana's a shout. Thanks, all!

While we're on the subject of hot sauce, does anyone know of a store (preferably not too far from Eglinton b/w Bayview and Yonge) that carries Busha Brown's Spicy Pukka sauce? It used to be pretty widely available, but I've been having a hard time finding it lately, and I love it.

      3. Try Highland Farms. Sriracha clone?

Supposedly, but I placed an order, was told that they'd get back to me regarding shipping charges, and I've heard nothing. Oh well.
I did get a call back today from the distributor, and apparently it's not sold retail in Canada at all. Was worth a try, I guess.

bummer. guess you need to be more aggressive about it and get back to THEM about the shipping charges if you really want the stuff.

it amazes me, particularly in this economy, that some companies are so neglectful of potential customers.

I saw it and the habanero one at Diana's Seafood yesterday. They also had Old Bay...but that is a differetn thread.

            2. If you like Sweet Heat, there is a local hot sauce called Cooksville Hot Sauce. Their Original is fantastic, but they also do a pineapple sweetened hot sauce called Hawaiian Heat. It's excellent straight on pizza or grilled meats, and chicken fingers or chinese if you want a spicy replacement form plum sauce.
