Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Greater Chicago

Seeking recommendations within walking distance of Palmer House

My 18 year old daughter and I will be staying at the Palmer House for a few days in March. I am looking for dinner recommendations within walking distance of the hotel. We have had Chicago pizza in prior trips, so not looking for that. Also not interested in anything where the primary attraction is high price. Just want good food, good atmosphere, and unique (can be ethnic) experience. Thanks.

    1. This is my first use of Chowhound and I didn't realize that I could find answers to my questions in the archives. Great resource and thanks nsxtasy for guiding me where I wanted to go.

      1. I am sure this place is mentioned somewhere in the above info, but the first place that popped into my head was Miller's Pub on Wabash. If you like old school that's the place for you.
        They are open late too.
