Palma Carriage House?

Hi all,

I'm considering hosting a dinner in the Palma carriage house, but am a little thrown by the bipolar reviews on Zagat's, Citysearch, etc. It sounds as though service and food quality can fluctuate quite a bit in the main restaurant, but that carriage house buy-outs are maybe more reliable? I notice a couple people have mentioned the carriage house here, but not in depth, as in both circumstances it wasn't available. Do any of you have experience with parties there?
