Boston transplant looking for Anna's replacement

ucallthatcb Feb 9, 2011 04:54 AM

I grew up with access to Anna's Taqueria and I LOVE their burritos. I moved to NYC two years ago and I am yet to find a suitable replacement. The biggest differences I've found are the chicken stock flavor in the rice and meats. Has anyone found an anna's burrito surrogate?

Sadly, it doesn't exist. I lived in Boston for 7 years and every single day I wonder why there isn't anything near as good here. That being said, your best bet is Dos Toros in Union Square. The guys modeled the place on the same San Francisco burrito shop as Anna's did. They are also well aware of Anna's and I talked about it with them the first week they opened (I gave them my honest opinion that Anna's was still better). For what it's worth, I think their food is pretty good, though the carnitas is where Anna's totally dominates.
