Birthday dinner for 10 (Weho/Mid-City) with scene

Initial choice was Lola's but looking over their menu I'm not sure if it's what we have in mind for a group containing a few foodies. But I am looking for a similar atmosphere- I like the front/back bar with pool table to keep it casual. Good for the early night scene. Bars nearby. Would appreciate any suggestions, thanks in advance!

Saturday night, around $25/pp without drinks.

        that definitely makes a difference.

okay, off the top of my head, how about Malo or Luna Park?

Those both seem great, probably would lean more towards Luna Park but it doesn't appear to have much of a bar scene- at least from what I'm reading. We might want to stay at the place we eat after dinner for an early nightlife type deal.

Looks gorgeous, but may be a bit difficult for the drivers- staying a bit off Sunset. I'm keeping it in my books for a future destination :)

okay, then i'm tapped out of ideas :)

i'll defer to the younger, hipper Hounds because my days of being in the know about the H-Wood scene are behind me. whatever you end up choosing, have fun, and happy birthday to you or whomever you're celebrating!

I heard about this one...thinking about heading over there for the late-nighters, do you know if it has a good scene for a mid- to late- 20's group?

        1. re: starsee

No longer my demographic but there certainly seem to be lots of patrons in that age range or only slightly older there.

      2. how about along La Brea? you can eat at Cube and hit next door to Tar Pit for drinks.

or..something along the lines of The Foundry on Melrose?

Those are both great recs- I would like to check them out. The group ranges from foodie to totally non-foodie so in order to please all, I think we are just going to do Lola's. But I still enjoy the recommendations for future reference, and we're also not set on the late night destination.

I love the idea of Tar Pit for drinks. Last time I went, though, it was pretty quiet on a Sat night. Some in the group would like to be at a place with potential to meet people so trying to accomodate that without going too "Hollywood" aka douchy.
