Non-Valentine's Day Dinner on Sunday

Help! It's my birthday on Sunday and my girlfriend and I want to go out for a nice dinner in Minneapolis that isn't caught up in the overpriced/under-quality Valentine's Day schlock that so many restaurants have. Any suggestions?

I second Alma, in fact we are going there for V-day itself and I expect no schlock, as karykat said, too classy. Another option for Sunday would be Meritage. They have a Sunday prix fixe menu that always sounds delish (I am a fan of their FB page so I get to read & drool over the menu each week! never actually been though), so for example last Sunday's prix fixe was:
grilled oysters with spicy lemon butter, pork chop with marscapone polenta and kale, and pineapple upside down cake.
And all that for $26! Pretty good deal.

Alma and Meritage are two of my very favorite places in the twin cities.

My first thought would be Restaurant Alma. Here's there current menu: http://www.restaurantalma.com/menu.aspx

They used to have a special combination price on Sundays. I'm not sure if they're still doing that.

I don't think they would go in for shlock. Especially on the day before Valentines Day. Very classy.

Me -- I do go in for Valentines shlock. I'm making a cheese souffle. Not sure what else, and maybe going to Heartland for dessert afterwards.
