Nice brunch near Exit 8A or 9 off the Turnpike?
I'm looking for a nice brunch place for my mother's 70th birthday this coming Sunday. We'd prefer not to do a buffet, but we'd like it to be special. We're coming from NYC and are meeting others coming from Philly so we were hoping to meet somewhere in the middle. Any suggestions in that area? Ethnic restaurants are definitely an option.
Old Man Rafferty's in New Brunswick does a nice brunch on Sunday's with carving stations and the like. I haven't been in a few years, but last time I was there it was nicely packed. It's located on Albany Street, the worst part is parking since you're downtown, but there are parking decks around the corner and down the street if there's no street parking.
This would be about 10 minutes off exit 9.
Chinese Dim Sum at Sunny Palace - about 10 mins off exit 9 also. Take Route 18 south at the exit.
There really isn't much off Exit 8A; it's pretty much all warehouses around that area.
