Valentine's day ideas?

  • 6

Any thoughts on where I should take my girlfriend for a V-Day dinner? It's a little late in the game, but I'd like to take her somewhere respectable.

  1. you're not likely to get many replies, as your post lacks some key information. it's also a common question around here, so searching could help. that said, chowhound is slow tonight and reddit is down, so i'll play.

according to Open Table, Crispo still has availability at 6:00 and 9:30. AOC, which i've never been to but have a friend that swears by it, has 7:15, 7:30, 7:45... Bar Breton has a 7:15...there are options still open. try to be more specific on neighborhood, budget and time. you might get more responses.

    1. As coasts points out, it's hard to make recommendations without knowing your cuisine preferences and, more importantly, your budget. That said...

I just got an email from SHO Sean Hergatt about Valentine's Day. They wouldn't be sending an email if they were fully booked, and a quick check of OpenTable shows quite a bit of availability.

They're serving a 6-course dinner for $150pp and wine pairing @$75pp -- plus tax & tip. SHO's food is superb service is first-rate, and the ambiance is lovely.

        1. UrbanDaddy covered a site last week, Table Envy, where you might be able to score a last minute reservation at a price, although it goes to charity. You might consider checking that out?
