Valentine's Day Restaurant

Was aiming for Weezie's but they just told me they've decided to stay closed this year for Valentine's. What would you recommend for a 100$ French dinner for 2 wine-tax-tip included?

A little more information: semi-small space, dimly lit (or romantically lit, if you prefer), an atmosphere to match the food, something perhaps slightly above casual dress code yet below suit jackets.

try open table but i think you are going to have a hard time getting a good reservation at this late date for v-day. i think you are going to have even a harder time finding a good place (french or otherwise) where 2 can dine for under $100. this is a big money day and most restos have table d'hote menus that start at $40 per person (average is actually around $60 or so...) and that is just for the food-and for only 1 of you....

let us know how you make out with your dinner and where you ended up...

Rossignol? Though I don't know if under $100 is going to work...

Try Le Paradis (http://www.leparadis.com/). This should fall within the $100 mark! Good luck.

Le Select would work if you can be a bit flexible with your budget.

Le Select has a $55 prix fixe for Valentine's, don't know if you can still order a la carte. If we're talking bistros, Midi is more intimate and cheaper ($33 prix fixe) and still authentic
