Got a yen for S&G but the best I've found is in Lakeland.
I don't mind the drive but there must be some places closer that serve this great dish.
Best I've had are at hamiltons kitchen
you have to try cress' shrimp n grits in deland http://www.cressrestaurant.com/fallme...
Bit of a drive but if you're ever in St. Augustine the Floridian has a unique take on shrimp and grits that is very good.
Tibby's on Aloma Ave in Winter Park has some good S & G
It's on the appetizer menu at Boathouse in Winter Park. The restaurant has great "Southern-inspired American cuisine" but I haven't tried that dish yet.www.boathouseofwinterpark.comwww.RonaGindin.com
The Lakeland restaurant is Harry's Seafood and Bar - many Cajun/ Creole dishes and the best Shrimp and Grits i've had so far.
Need more recs.
Ravenous pig serves it as a appetizer.
The ones at the Pig are very good. It's decent-sized even though it is an app. Another small plate or a salad and it would be a good meal.
I haven't been there in a long time, but Two Blondes and a Shrimp in Sanford had really good shrimp and grits.
Their website is http://www.twoblondesandashrimp.com , and I wrote the first Chowhound reviews on them back in 2008: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/506460
I LOVE the shrimp and grits @ Two Blondes. That is my new standard and I have tried to find something comparable closer to me in Tampa and have had no luck.
