Champy's Chicken - Chattanooga

Anyone living in, or visiting Chattanooga must try Champy's Chicken on MLK across from the new UTC dorms. They have the best fried chicken I've ever had. The catfish and Mississippi Delta Tamales are great too. Fun place, cold beer, good music, and great food. http://www.champyschicken.com/

It seems a little dodgy as you're driving there (at least the direction we came from) but the restaurant itself sits across the street from UT-Chatt dorms. We took our dog for a walk on campus after dinner. 7 - 8 the night before Thanksgiving.

Okay, been there done that. IT. IS. AWESOME!!

Quite simply the best fried chicken I've had. Juicy, tasty, crunchy, herby and what really makes the chicken I think, a slight kick. Just enough to really open the taste buds.

The fried dill pickles are also the best I've had.

I loved the tamales however Mrs. Sippi only proclaimed them very good. She's much more familiar with them having grown up in northern Ms.

All in all, a fantastic place. Great staff and cool setting.
