re: mwok
It's cured, smoked salmon. How long you can store it depends on the moisture content. "Eskimo candy" as it was known in the pre-PC era was a preparation analogous to jerky. The salmon was cut into strips, brined or salt-cured and smoked. It was intended to be packed for a quick protein fix throughout the long Northern winters (like jerky was intended to last for long trips without need for refrigeration). If it's pretty firm with a low moisture content then it should last for a few weeks or longer. The reason I'm equivocating is that the picture looks more like strips of smoked salmon, which may not last quite as long.

re: ferret
Yep, it is strips of smoked salmon. Not as firm as jerky. I just need for it to stay for a couple of days in the refrigerator without spoiling.
Since it says that it has gone through a "salt-mediated" curing process, I guess I can store it in the refrigerator for couple of days.
