Best berry pie in SF?

After reading about Duarte's pies, it occurred to me that for my birthday on Wednesday, I want a berry pie! But I'm not going to drive out of town for it, so, where can I buy great pie in SF?

  1. Find a close by farmers market with a Beckmann booth. Example: Divisidero Sunday market.

    1. I'm a berry lover more than a pie eater. But try Mission Beach Cafe. Alan makes wonderful berry pies.

I haven't been impressed with Mission Pie.

Cosign--if it's berry you're after, call in advance to find out if they're offering one that day, but Mission Beach Cafe has, to my taste, the best pies in San Francisco. His crusts are gorgeous.

      2. According to Duarte's website, Bryan's stocks frozen pies to bake at home. Worth a call.

        1. You can't buy pie. Good tarts are available at hideous prices from some of the snazzier Patissieres.

          1. I haven't tried it, but given the general level of quality there, I'd bet the pies at Bi-Rite are first-rate.

Duarte's crust is meh. You can do much better.
