Argentinian Asado?

Mandarine Feb 7, 2011 05:57 PM

Does anyone have suggestions on where to find a traditional Argentinian Asado or BBQ grilled meat restaurant in Montreal. I just returned from Buenos Aires and I'm still salivating about the 600gm rib eye steak that the waiter cut with 2 spoons! So tender and succulent.....let my dream live on!

Argentina is famous for its sharp spoons.

You could try Argentino on Beaubien. Haven't been yet but they were featured on Curieux Bégin last week:

I went to Argentino last summer and it wasn't very good. Food was barely passable and definitely not spoon cutting tender. I wouldn't go back but I also don't have an alternate suggestion for you.

Spoon-cutting tender? Is that a realistic expectation? It's grilled meat.

just referring to the OP post...
hyperbole aside... I didn't find Argentino very good.

I didn't think it was possible until I saw it with my own eyes! That was one DIVINE BOVINE!
