Dinner in Center City and the Main Line
I moved away from Philadelphia almost 15 years ago; and my restaurant list is obviously dated!
I'm going to be there for a conference next month. Looking for places in Center City and the Main Line that are 1) easy to get to via public transportation (a cab from SEPTA is fine, if it's a must-do recommendation) and 2) serve unfussy, great, authentic fare--esp, locavore and ethnic.
To give you a feel for what I'm looking for, some of the places on my antiquated list from the '80's-'90's (many no longer in operation): Frog/Commissary, Warsaw Cafe, an amazing Thai place between two gunshops whose name and neighborhood I can't call up....
you have many many options near the train station in Wayne now. As we don't go out to eat often, I don't have specific recommendations (Except that Teresa's Next Door is excellent for upscale beer sampling), but try Yelp. Also, Bryn Mawr has many very good restaurants near their train station, such as Tango.
