Early Weekday Breakfast in Union Square

Need to be at the Hilton by 8am. It's on a Tuesday, so a rushed breakfast (doesn't open until 7:30am) at Dottie's is out of the question.

Is Sears the best option?

Dottie's does to go order, maybe rob the pastry case and grab a coffee on the way.

Loved the wheatberry cereal (served hot) at Luques in the Chancellor Hotel (right next to Sears).

Cafe Mason near the Hilton, nothing spectacular but serviceable with a large menu; service can be hit or miss.

Tons of Lori's Diners in the area too

How about Farmtable?

I've only been to farm:table for coffee and pastries; while I absolutely love that place, it seems like they have an extremely limited menu, which wouldn't seem to satisfy some of the pickier eaters who will be with me.

Any other reports on Luques? Menu looks intruiging....

The restaurant at the Campton Place hotel begins serving breakfast at 7:00 a.m. It's on the east side of Union Square.

I should also mention that several members in the group don't want fancy food or settings. I think we're going to go with Taylor Street Coffee Shop.
