Bun cha?

Any place to get bun cha in NY (including outer borough)? I had some in Hanoi recently and am dying to have some more without having to deal with jet lag for a week.

This blog discusses the best bun cha in Vietnam, so you can get a sense of what I am craving...

If you're talking about the bun cha where you dip the rice noodles separately into the nuoac cham (sp?), the only place I've had this dish is at Pho Bac in Elmhurst, Queens. Sorry to say but it was pretty bad.

Viet Cafe in Tribeca offers this dish though I haven't tried it yet.

I end up making it at home.

My wife and I ate at the same joint in Hanoi. We were only there for 3 days, but dug the Bun Cha so much that we went back a second time. Good luck in your quest - I have yet to see it on any Vietnamese restaurant menu.

I'm sure it won't compare to what you found in Vietnam, but it's on the menu at Pho Bang on Mott Street (as bun cha ha noi)
